Kyushu is the third-largest and southernmost of Japan's four main islands and has many active volcanoes which ensure lots of onsen for you to enjoy.

From here the Yamato tribe advanced north and conquered the rest of the country, so it is considered the birthplace of Japanese civilization.
For 200 years the port of Nagasaki was the only place where contact with Dutch and Portuguese traders was allowed.
